EGM of PRAGI [Dec 23 2010 10:38AM]
Pragati Insurance Ltd. has informed that the Board of Directors of the company has taken the following decisions subject to the approval of the shareholders in the EGM & the Regulatory Authorities. 1) The authorized share capital of the Co. shall be increased from existing Tk. 50 crore to Tk. 200 crore. 2) The denomination of share price shall be Tk. 10/- instead of Tk. 100/- and the market lot of shares shall be 100 instead of 10. Accordingly the relevant clauses of Memorandum and Articles of Association of the Co. will be amended. An EGM will be held on 27 Jan 2011 at 4:00pm at Pragati Insurance Bhaban,20-21,Karwan Bazar,4th Floor,Dhaka.Record date for EGM is on 2 Jan 2011.

SEC's Consent on Denomination- PEOPI [Dec 23 2010 10:40AM]
People Insurance Co. Ltd. has informed that SEC has accorded its consent to the proposed change in the denomination of share value (face value) of the Co. from Tk. 100 to Tk. 10 each as well as market lot from 10 to 100 shares.

Buy Intention-DBH [Dec 23 2010 11:52AM]
Green Delta Insurance Co. Ltd., one of the corporate Sponsors/Directors of Delta Brac Housing Finance Corporation Ltd., has reported its intention to buy 25,000 shs in addition to its holdings of 7,97,249 shs of the Co. at prevailing market price through Stock Exchange within next 30 working days.

SEC's Consent on Denomination- PMBNK [Dec 23 2010 11:53AM]
SEC has accorded its consent to the proposed change in the denomination of share value (face value) of Prime Bank Ltd. from Tk. 100 to Tk. 10 each as well as market lot from 50 to 250 shares.

Change of EGM & Record Date-SAFKO [Dec 23 2010 12:32PM]
Safko Spinning Mills Ltd. has further informed that the EGM of the Co. will now be held on 3 February 2011 instead of 25 January 2011 and Record date will be 12 January 2011 instead of 3 January 2011. Other information of the EGM as announced earlier.

Important News-EBL [Dec 23 2010 1:43PM]
Eastern Bank Ltd. has informed that the Board of Directors of the Bank has taken the following decisions:(1)The Board has approved the revaluation of the Assets (EBL own Plots of Land) of the Bank as certified by the Auditors M/s. Rahman Rahman Huq, Chartered Accountants, in total from Tk. 1,402,988,617 to Tk. 3,141,251,513 with a revaluation gain of Tk. 1,738,262,896 (2) To purchase a commercial floor space of 4100 sft. (approx) at Azimpur, Dhaka at the cost of Tk. 6.06 crore only including registration and other incidental costs (approx) for the use of the Bank subject to prior approval of Bangladesh Bank. (3) To set up a Joint Venture Life Insurance Company in Bangladesh and also the proposal to sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in this regard sharing 25% of Paid up Capital by EBL for setting up the proposed Joint Venture Life Insurance Company in Bangladesh with some local and foreign institutions subject to prior approval of the respective Regulatory Authorities.
